The airport saw a 27.6 per cent increase in passengers over last year's August
holiday with 19,805 people passing through its doors.
Managing director David Ryall said :"The stunning facilities we have to offer
match the range of destinations we are now linked with. I'm delighted to report
the significant increase in passenger throughput year on year, which demonstrates
what an impact Robin Hood Airport continues to have on the region."
Steve Adamson, product development and communications manager added: "We're now
looking ahead to the winter season, where we will see more flights on the popular
Spanish route of Alicante start in November 2007 with Ryanair, Thomsonfly will
start five flights a week to Geneva in December 2007, and by February 2008, Wizz
Air will be operating 12 flights a week to and from Poland"
